Vintage Birthday

I really enjoyed making this birthday card for my mom...

I used enamel embossing on the chipboard dress form, and hand sewed beads to the waist band. The paper doilies were stamped and sporadically covered with gloss medium and distressed glitter. Bottle cap added with sweet sentiment.

Sending Blessings

Created this layered card with the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes 12 x12 paper pad, which includes coordinating velum sheets.  Love this paper.  See video below for a look at the paper and more on the card.

Stiched velum script paper to ledger paper and layered with additional paper on corrugated card (card edged with white acrylic paint and Sparkle Mod Podge). Copic colored and paper pieced little girl using Unity stamp: Every Breath, raised on dimensionals.  Embossed sentiment and raised on banner.  Added trims (with more stitching), bling, Sizzlet cut swirls, stick pins and flower rosettes.

Was it all a DREAM?

Hey, everyone!  I'm here with The Greeting Farm today and I'm happy to report that no,
it definitely was NOT a DREAM!

That's right! Today is the super special mid-month RELEASE DAY for the brand new mixed-media DREAM kit... appropriately titled "DREAMY"!  This jumbo-sized, 8.5x11 FULL sheet of stamps is available starting NOW over in TGF Store so be sure to grab yours before they sell out!

I love the mixed media world because it allows you to experiment with new techniques.  In this piece I mixed Faber Castell Gelatos with Super Gloss Mod Podge and glitter to create a unique stamping media.  This tinted gloss worked fabulously with the DREAMY stamps and was used for background stamping.

Greeting Farm Preview!! DREAMY Stamp Kit for Mixed Media

Today's the day... The Greeting Farm is previewing the "DREAMY" kit, which will be released on June 15th and is a fabulous stamp set geared toward mixed media but versatile enough for card making and other crafts!  The kit is 8.5 x 11 and is filled with wonderful images and sentiments.

The Greeting Farm stamps work wonderfully in mixed media because the images are deeply cut allowing them to work with many kinds of media including inks, paints, texture pastes, gesso and much more.  So versatile and fun to work with, this stamp set will allow your imagination to soar.

Here is a piece I created on a 10 x 10 artist board using several of the DREAMY images to create background texture as well as paper piecing focal points.
It's fun to use the stamps in a variety of ways.

Some of the items I used along with the Dreamy stamps to create this project include gesso, acrylic paints, Archival and StazOn inks, stucco paint, decoupage, black permanent pen, white gel pen, Glimmer Glam, patterned paper, seam binding, rhinestone bling, Faber Casell Pitt Artist pens, Sizzix dies and chipboard.

A little closer view....

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come visit again on
June 15th for more DREAMY projects!

Handmade Box Pleat Trim Flowers

You can buy box pleat trim at the store or make your own as I did here but creating stunning flowers for your projects is easy using this trim.

Start with lace or ribbon trim and dye/distress to your liking.  I used the below products to make the blue flower by dying cream lace trim with teal Color Shine (excellent product), then distressed with inks and made small box pleats and secured with sewing machine.  Added some glitter with Uhu glue, coiled onto a 1 1/4 inch circle with hot glue and adhered center embellishment.

My Dancing Girl...

Oh my... it has been almost a month since my last post... busy time for us.  My youngest daughter, who is 11, is a dancer and dances round the clock this time of year.
I made this little plaque for her room.
We are right in the middle of her competition season, tons of fun!

Used 6x6 heavy chipboard, covered with paint and Crackle Accents, layered with tulle, paper and lace. Altered frame with stamped book paper and ink. Colored Stamping Bella Missmatch Ketto with Copics and adhered to altered paper background.  Added altered seam binding, lace, button & key.  Used lace and seambinding to hang.

Let me know if you have any questions.
